Hallowe'en!
Hey all,
Hallowe'en is on Friday, so to celebrate, Chelsea and I have decided to do an all-Hallowe'en themed show!
We need suggestions for songs though, so email us:
chelsea@kick.fm
kate@kick.fm
We have lots of songs, but remember: the show is 3 hours long. We need more.

Wow, okay, oops!
Hey all,
Sorry we haven't blogged in a while. A long while. I think it was June that we last blogged.
Anyways, a little update:
We're still doing the show, but now Dan Vadeboncoeur, the KICK-FM News Director for the year, will be joining us at top-of-the-hour every day to do a news break, and once a week Darren Cameron, Sports Director, joins us for a short chat about sports.
Chelsea now has to take the bus in the mornings as I'm back in school and can no longer pick her up, so we're kind of doing a tag-team show some mornings - I'll start the show off at 6 and she'll come in around 7 (whenever she gets there) and I'll leave for class when I have to.
A lot has been happening for both of us, personally, but it's all good, don't worry!
It's been really hard for us to get out to all the events we want to get to, just because we both are at the campus for 10-14 hours a day, so by dinnertime we're both exhausted. Add homework (for me) on top of that, and whew! Long days!
We've been trying really hard to have social lives but sometimes we pull a "Last Friday" and pass out on the couch after dinner and sleep until 2AM. (Yep, that actually happened to me last Friday - I totally missed a friend's welcome-back party!)
Anyways, I should probably get back to the show. I'm here alone today (except for Dan...who should be here any minute...) because Chelsea is down in Minneapolis for the David Byrne concert, which was yesterday.

Name that Deadman!
So we're giving away tickets to the Theory of a Deadman show on June 11th. Instead of doing our typical "hey, call in and you'll win stuff" deal we usually do, we're holding a contest!
"Name that Deadman!" is a contest where we pick a dead, male musician and give clues on the air. If you guess that dead man, you win two tickets to the Theory of a Deadman show. We actually won't have the tickets till Friday...it happens.
This contest runs all this week (June 2-6) at around 8:15AM, so keep it locked to KICK!
Monday's Dead Man:
Bradley Nowell (Sublime).
Congrats to Sheila for winning herself 2 tickets!

Ted Reader
So today we had our very first phone interview with Ted Reader from Toronto.
Ted is a BBQ chef with a new book, line of sauces and line of BBQs out now!
He had 5 tips for safe BBQing this summer:
1) Clean the grill really well
2) Be patient
3) Stay patient
4) If you're cooking with high heat, keep the lid open. Low heat, lid closed.
5) Never leave the grill
You can find out more about Ted's stuff at his website, www.tedreader.com and you can email him questions at ted@tedreader.com.
